The Golden age of the radio was in the the 1930's used as the main stream for media information, news, sports, music, and talk shows.

From Baseball, to the daily news everyone would listen to the radio. The radio offered entertainment, music and news with a voice. Family's would gather in their homes like we do today with TVs to get the latest news and entrainment, sports updates, fashion tips along with other entrainment for the family.

In the 1930s a naive populace panicked when H. G. Wells tale of a Martian invasion (The World of the Wars) was broadcast and many thought it was real, because the radio was the quickest transportation for news, it had an emergency broadcast program, that would be tested monthly. It just so happened that H.G. Wells used this to his advantage to scare some people in believing that the world was coming to an end.
